Jasper firefighters respond to vehicle fire

JASPER — Units of the Jasper Volunteer Fire Department responded Tuesday to the report of a vehicle fire.

The 11:51 a.m. callout sent firefighters to 307 Newton St.

Fire Chief Kenny Hochgesang said a 1989 Porsche Carrera owned by Joe Buehler of Jasper had its heater motor in the dash start a fire that caused about $1,000 in damage.

Two trucks and 26 firefighters were on the scene about 10 minutes.
