Jasper firefighters answer residential alarm

From Local Sources

JASPER — Units of the Jasper Volunteer Fire Department responded Monday night to a residential alarm activation.

The 8:45 p.m. callout was to the John and Carma Habig residence at 1306 Wilson St. but there was no fire, according to Fire Chief Kenny Hochgesang. Instead, he added, the alarm was found to have been triggered by a small amount of smoke from food cooking on a stove.

Four trucks and 29 firefighters were on the scene 10 minutes.
