Jasper fire trucks stop by Walmart Supercenter

From Local Sources

JASPER — Fire trucks made a short stop at the Walmart Supercenter today when a water-flow alarm activated in the 4040 N. Newton St. store’s garden center.

Jasper Volunteer Fire Department Fire Chief Kenny Hochgesang said there was no fire associated with the 5:34 a.m. alarm. Instead, he said, a faulty detector in the sprinkler system triggered the alarm.

No water was discharged and there was no damage.

Three trucks and 23 firefighters responded. Personnel were at the scene 10 minutes.
