Jasper cross country awards announced

JASPER — The Jasper boys and girls cross country teams announced their 2018 award winners on Monday evening.

For the boys, award winners were Luke Summerlot (Mental Attitude), Dimitry Gordon (Outstanding Senior), Abe Eckman (Outstanding Freshman), Drew O’Neil (Die Hard Award) and Jackson Miller (Die Hard Award, Most Valuable Runner).

Miller also was an All-State honorable mention selection while O’Neil and Eckman joined him as Big Eight All-Conference selections.

For the girls, award winners were Amanda Schnell (Most Improved), Alexis Christiansen (Most Improved), Anna Kidwell (Mental Attitude), Kelsea Skorge (Die Hard Award), Alyssa Skorge (Outstanding Senior) and Andi VanMeter (Die Hard Award, Outstanding Freshman and Most Valuable Runner).

VanMeter and Alyssa Skorge were also All-State honorable mention selections. Leah Schnell, Alexis Christiansen, Mayson VanMeter, Amanda Schnell, Kelsea Skorge, Alyssa Skorge and Andi VanMeter were all Big Eight all-conference recipients.
