Jasper collision totals two carsDecember 1, 2020

JASPER — A Jasper accident left two cars totaled Tuesday morning.
Alicia D. Labhart, Jasper, was northbound on Newton Street in a 2003 Chevy Equinox when the 7:30 a.m. accident occurred at the intersection of Newton and 13th streets, according to the Jasper Police Department.
A press release states that at the same time, Samuel E. Steffy, Jasper, was traveling eastbound on 13th Street at the intersection with Newton Street in a 2007 Lexus. Labhart disregarded the traffic signal at the intersection and struck the Steffy Lexus.
Labhart complained of hand pain and several juvenile passengers complained of injury, as well. Steffy was uninjured.
Labhart was charged with disregarding a traffic control device. Both vehicles were considered total losses.
The police department was assisted by Uebelhor’s Wrecker Service and Dubois County EMS.
