Jasper business uses cold to transformAugust 7, 2019

JASPER — Whether you’re hoping to lose weight that stubbornly won’t burn away, or you want to clear up acne before a big day, a new beauty and wellness business has recently opened in Jasper to lend a hand.
Cryo Body Creation offers services that use Cryoskin treatments — performed by a non-invasive machine that cools the skin using the science behind cryotherapy — to apply subzero temperatures that tighten skin and destroy fat cells throughout the body.
“We really kind of have something for everything,” said Tracy Anderson, who is one of the Jasper shop’s three co-owners.
Cryo Body is housed in the Illusions Nail-Hair Studio and Day Spa on Sixth Street. The business’ facial treatments can lift skin and reduce acne, fine lines and wrinkles. Body toning procedures target loose skin and cellulite, and fat reduction services are also offered.
The shop’s cryoshock treatment lasts five minutes and targets and manages pain from sore muscles, joint inflammation and nerve pain. Cryo Body’s longest session lasts 28 minutes — ensuring customers are in and on their way quickly.
“I wanted immediate results,” Anderson said of how she aims to help people swiftly. “So, somebody can come in, and we’ve had people come in and walk out with their waist two inches smaller in 28 minutes.”
According to information on the business’ website, the device used in the treatments is very safe. It is managed by a computerized system, and the cooling is controlled by an electronic temperature sensor in the device. The temperature is controlled and displayed in real time on the screen. The site also says that all the treatments offered are painless, and some clients actually describe them as creating a pleasant sensation due to the massage technique that is used.
The Jasper Cryo Body business opened part-time in June and has been fully functioning since July. It operates by appointment from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The company also has locations in Montgomery, Washington and Petersburg, and will operate in Bloomington at the end of the month.
“There isn’t anything else like that around here,” Anderson said of the services Cryo Body offers.
While it started as a small business, the business has since evolved into a growing fixture across the region. The success of the outfit has been a team effort.
Anderson co-owns the Jasper, Petersburg and Bloomington locations alongside Jody Verkamp and Pam Hall; while Anderson, Hall and Kylie Hall own the other spots. Anderson also credited Malorie Weisheit of MW Media Design, who manages the company’s social media platforms and designed and manages the Cryo Body’s website.
Consultations are free, and Anderson encouraged readers to check out the Cryo Body Creation Facebook page for before and after pictures. More information can also be found at cryobodycreation.com.
Visits can be booked online or by calling 844-488-2639.
