January named ‘Mentoring Month’ in JasperJanuary 16, 2019

JASPER — In conjunction with National Mentoring Month, Mayor Dean Vonderheide has declared January 2019 as Mentoring Month in Jasper.
“It was an honor to have the city recognize the importance of mentoring,” said Mentors for Youth Executive Director Ellen Corn. “The positive effects of mentoring relationships not only benefit individuals but also the community.”
Mentors for Youth is dedicated to facilitating mutually beneficial relationships between youth and volunteers for the purpose of enhancing individual lives and the community. The organization has been serving Dubois County for 30 years, matching children with responsible adults for one-on-one mentoring.
