James Watson, age 84, passed away at 3:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 19, 2020, at the Good Samaritan Society-Northwood Retirement Community in Jasper, Indiana.
James was born in Manhattan, New York, on January 19, 1936, to James and Margaret (Lawton) Watson. He married Helen G. Frederick on May 6, 1961, in New York.
He worked as a system analyst at Grumman Corporation in Long Island, New York. He later retired in Milledgeville, Georgia. He moved to Jasper with his wife in 2011 to be close to his family. She proceeded him in death in 2012.
James enjoyed traveling, reading, and watching John Wayne western movies. He was an avid fan of the New York Giants football team and the New York Rangers hockey team.
Surviving are one son, Tom (LaDonna) Watson, Jasper, IN; one daughter, Heather (Gerald) McGrael, Destin, FL, four grandchildren, Emma and Zach Watson, Gunther and Kaylee McGrael.
Preceding him in death besides his wife are one brother George Watson; and two sisters, Geraldine Twomey and Peggy Woods.
Private services will be held at Becher Kluesner Funeral Home with burial at a later date in Fairview Cemetery.
