James Martin Canada Sr., 79, of Dale, formerly of Bedford, passed away at 8 a.m. on Saturday, May 18, 2019, at his home in Dale.
He was born February 9, 1940, in Lawrence County, to Russel and Nellie (Shelton) Canada.
James retired as a machinist at Crane Naval Weapons Support Center. and was an avid fisherman.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one daughter, Sarah Kay Canada.
He is survived by three children, Evelyn Jean (Greg) Hampton of Bedford, Judith M. (Phillip) Hensley of Oolitic and James (Bridgette) Canada Jr. of Dale; three siblings, Albert Canada of Mitchell, Ronald Canada of Alexandria, Virginia, and Linda Smart of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for James Martin Canada Sr. will be held at 2 p.m. ET on Wednesday, May 22, 2019, at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg.
Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home from noon to 2 p.m. ET on Wednesday, the day of the service.
