James L. ‘Jack’ Lottes, 87, Loogootee
July 21, 2020James L. “Jack” Lottes, 87, of Loogootee, formerly of Daviess County, passed away at 6:30 a.m. on Sunday, July 19, 2020, in St. Charles Health Campus in Jasper.

Jack was born in Daviess County on November 27, 1932, to Herbert and Bertha (Mehne) Lottes. He married Jeanette Schnarr on May 2, 1957, in Christ Lutheran Church in Haysville, Indiana. She preceded him in death on February 18, 1990.
He was a member of the United States Army, serving stateside during the Korean Conflict.
He was a lifetime farmer and did custom trucking for many area farmers and businesses.
Jack was a lifetime member of Christ Lutheran Church in Haysville, where he was a member of the church council, the National Farmer’s Organization, charter member of the Wabash Valley Association, and the Barr-Reeve School Board.
He was a devoted father, enjoyed listening to country music, watching Westerns, and playing the harmonica.
Surviving are five children, Darlene (Steve) Knepp, Cannelburg, Brenda (Keeven) Neukam, Loogootee, Marsha (Kevin) Seifert, Portersville, Herbert (Donna) Lottes, Loogootee and Jackie (Rick) Hardin, Loogootee; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary (Joe) Ziegler, Bloomington, and Martha Munch, Haysville.
Preceding him in death are his wife Jeanette Lottes and one grandson, Michael Lottes.
Funeral Services for James L. “Jack” Lottes will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 22, 2020, in Christ Lutheran Church in Haysville, with burial to follow in Haysville Community Cemetery. The American Legion Post #147 will conduct military gravesite rights.
A visitation will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 21, 2020, at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper and one hour before services at the church on Wednesday.
Memorial contributions may be made to Christ Lutheran Church Endowment Fund or to a favorite charity.
