Irene Fritz, 96, of Siberia
July 15, 2020Irene Fritz, 96, of Siberia, passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2020, at Brookside Village in Jasper.

Irene was born February 1, 1924, in Ferdinand to Simon and Elenora (Tempel) Petry. She married Joseph Fritz on March 29, 1948, in St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Siberia. Joseph preceded her in death on February 1, 2009.
Irene enjoyed cooking, quilting and gardening. She made hundreds of crocheted jar openers for friends.
Irene is survived by three daughters, Rose (Dan) Beck of Jasper, Barbara (Gene) Welp of Ferdinand and JoAnn (Keith) Greenwell of Loogootee; two sons, David (Sandy) Fritz of Gentryville and Bob (Connie) Fritz of Siberia; 11 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren.
Irene was preceded in death by two brothers, Earl and Urban Petry.
A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Siberia, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Martin of Tours Church Cemetery Fund.
