IRELAND — The recorded damage was minor after two pickup trucks collided Thursday afternoon in Ireland.
James A. Phegley, 54, Carlisle, was eastbound on State Road 56 in a 2014 GMC Sierra when the 2:17 p.m. mishap occurred 100 feet east of County Road 500W, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Department.
Phegley slowed for traffic and, when he did, his GMC was rear-ended by a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Michael L. Spurlock, 56, Santa Claus, according to deputies.
Total damage was likely less than $1,000, according to the sheriff’s department.
A deputy gave Spurlock a written warning for following too closely.
