JASPER — Police eventually arrested an intoxicated man Tuesday night after he allegedly became agitated and aggressive at the hospital.
The Jasper Police Department was originally called at 5:25 p.m. to the report of an intoxicated man threatening to harm himself in the 2500 block of Newton Street.
Police say the man, Demetrius L. Greer, 34, 2312 Sunset Drive, was found to be under the influence of alcohol and was transported to Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center for medical clearance.
While at the hospital, police reported, Greer became agitated and aggressive toward law enforcement and hospital staff, making verbal threats to harm them.
Police placed Greer under arrest after a minor physical altercation.
Authorities booked Greer into the Dubois County Security Center on preliminary charges that included a Level 6 felony count of intimidation and misdemeanor counts of disorderly conduct, public intoxication and resisting law enforcement.
