Intoxicated Dale man arrested

JASPER — City police arrested Jamey A. Smock, 43, 105 E. Brown St., Dale, Sunday morning and charged him with driving while impaired and public intoxication.
Jasper Police received a call at 2:20 a.m. about a man honking his horn and revving his engine repeatedly in the 300 block of 14th Street. When officers arrived, they found the man at a parking lot on the street and identified him as Smock. After investigating, police determined Smock had left a bar and drove to the parking lot.
Smock failed a field sobriety test and refused a chemical test, police said. His blood-alcohol content was later tested at .214%.
Smock was charged with operating a behicle while intoxicated, a class A misdemeanor, OWI refusal, a class A infraction, and public intoxication, a class B misdemeanor. He was lodged in the Dubois County Security Center.
