HUNTINGBURG — A traffic stop early today over an inoperable headlight resulted in a passenger’s drug arrest.
A Huntingburg Police Department officer observed a Lincoln Navigator with a driver’s side headlight out in the area of 12th and Main streets at 1:44 a.m. A traffic stop was conducted on 19th Street, during which an Indiana State Police K-9 alerted on the vehicle.
Police located a crystalline substance located in a scale on the passenger-side floorboard. The substance field tested positive as methamphetamine.
The passenger, Kristopher E. Erwin, 49, 2030 Lincoln Drive, Huntingburg, was arrested on a preliminary charge of Level 5 felony methamphetamine possession.
Authorities booked Erwin into the Dubois County Security Center at 4:51 a.m.
