Inoperable headlight leads to OWI arrest

HUNTINGBURG — Police say a traffic stop early today over a car’s inoperable headlight resulted in an impaired driving arrest.

A Huntingburg Police Department officer stopped a vehicle driven by Kane B. Harpe, 24, 402 W. Medcalf St., Dale, at 2:13 a.m. at Sixth and Main streets after noticing a passenger-side headlight was inoperable.

Harpe, who allegedly exhibited signs of impairment, had a blood alcohol content that tested .115% in a certified test at the Huntingburg Police Station.

Authorities booked Harpe into the Dubois County Security Center at 3:55 a.m. on a preliminary misdemeanor count of operating while intoxicated.
