JASPER — An inmate at the Dubois County Security Center was found unresponsive in his cell early this morning and was later pronounced dead at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center.
Jail officers were making rounds around 3:36 a.m. when they discovered 51-year-old Jerry O. Frick of Huntingburg unresponsive and alone in his cell.
Officers immediately started CPR and the use of an AED. Memorial Hospital Emergency Medical Services and first responders responded and transferred Frick by ambulance to Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 4:09 a.m.
The Dubois County Coroners Office and the Dubois County Sheriff's Department are continuing the investigation. No foul play is suspected.
Frick was being held in the security center on a pending case from Dubois Circuit Court.
