HOLLAND — A Marion County man escaped injury in a car-versus-deer collision Friday morning in the Holland area.
Olalekan M. Akinyele, 41, Indianapolis, was northbound on State Road 161 in a 2015 Honda Accord when the 5:41 a.m. accident occurred north of Meridian Street, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Department.
A deputy said Akinyele’s Honda collided with a deer that came onto the highway from the west.
Akinyele was able to drive from the scene but damage to the left front of his car was estimated at $4,000.
The sheriff’s department reported that the deer was located dead at the scene.
