INDOT targets Otwell-area bridge deckApril 3, 2020
From Local Sources
OTWELL — Lane closures are being announced for a State Road 56 bridge deck rehabilitation project coming April 13 east of the Otwell Junction.
The Indiana Department of Transportation says contractors will close one lane of the State Road 56 bridge spanning Little Flat Creek, which is just in excess of a mile east of the intersection with State Road 257.
One lane will be closed at all times with traffic controlled by a temporary signal. Lanes will be restricted to a width of 11 feet. Wider loads should seek an alternate route using the nearest numbered state, U.S. or interstate route.
Work is expected to last until the beginning of May depending on weather conditions.
In announcing the project, INDOT urged drivers to slow down and stay alert near the work crews.
