INDOT plans bridge closure near PetersburgSeptember 23, 2019
From Local Sources
PETERSBURG — The Indiana Department of Transportation announces a full bridge closure scheduled for State Road 56 near Petersburg.
Beginning on or around Monday, Sept. 30, contractors will close the bridge spanning Pride’s Creek, less than a mile east of State Road 57, for a bridge deck overlay project. During this project, workers will be patching and resurfacing the bridge deck.
The closure will be in place around the clock. Weather permitting, work is scheduled to wrap up the first week of October. Inclement weather could cause delays in the project timeline. The official detour for the closure uses State Road 56, Interstate 69, State Road 64 and State Road 57.
Motorists should allow extra time to get to their destination and avoid distractions while driving in the work zone.
INDOT urges drivers to slow down and stay alert near crews.
