Ice contributes to Duff-area slide-offJanuary 12, 2018
From Local Sources
DUFF — Ice was a factor in a Monday morning slide-off accident along a county road southwest of Duff.
Erika Thompson, 22, Crown Point, was westbound on County Road 450S in a 2005 Saturn Ion when the 8:15 a.m. accident occurred just east of County Road 800W, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Department.
Deputies said Thompson lost control of her car because of ice on the roadway.
The Saturn slid off the north side of the roadway and struck a barbed wire fence but was back on its way after being pulled out by a Sternberg Automotive Group wrecker.
Total damage was estimated at less than $1,000.
