JASPER — Julie Ann Morgan-Siebe MSW, LCSW, LAC has opened Morgan-Siebe Solutions LLC at 520 Main St.
Morgan-Siebe, a licensed clinical social worker and addiction counselor, uses hypnosis to help clients in the areas of weight loss, smoking cessation, chronic pain control, sports performance, academic performance and goal setting. Hypnosis also is used to help manage stress and anxiety and battle phobias and stage fright.
Morgan-Siebe studied at the University of Southern Indiana, Evansville, earning bachelor’s and master’s degrees in social work. She has worked with children, teens and adults in group homes, correctional facilities, schools, outpatient mental health offices, churches and hospitals. She works full time as a psychiatric social worker.
She established Morgan-Siebe Solutions in 2011 but put her plans on hold to have a third child. The business officially opened July 1.
According to Morgan-Siebe, clinical hypnosis — or hypnotherapy — uses guided relaxation and focused attention and concentration. She practices suggestion hypnotherapy.
“The hypnotic state helps a person gain a better ability to respond to suggestions,” she said.
“Therefore, it can help people change behaviors they don’t like.”
Hypnosis is not appropriate for people who suffer from psychotic symptoms, such as hallucinations or delusions, and is not appropriate for people under the influence of alcohol or drugs, according to Morgan-Siebe.
“My passion for hypnosis has grown over the past several years, It has helped me personally and it has helped many of my clients,” she said. “My personal mission is to uncover serenity in others, so they can live a purposeful life.”
Morgan-Siebe lives in Jasper with her husband, Jesse Siebe. They have two sons and a daughter.
“The mission of Morgan-Siebe Solutions LLC is to help people find solutions to their problems, while promoting serenity and purpose,” Morgan-Siebe said.
