Huntingburg speeder accused of impaired driving

HUNTINGBURG — The Huntingburg Police Department accused a speeder stopped overnight on the city’s south side of driving while intoxicated.

An officer stopped a 2001 Dodge Stratus driven by Miguel Chavez Sandoval, 34, 1003 S. Main St., at Main and Chestnut streets after allegedly determining the car was exceeding the posted speed limit.

Police allege Chavez Sandoval’s blood alcohol content tested .21 percent at Memorial Hospital.

Authorities booked Chavez Sandoval into the Dubois County Security Center at 12:28 a.m. today on a preliminary misdemeanor count of operating while intoxicated.
