JASPER — A man taken into custody Saturday on a Dubois Superior Court charging him with misdemeanor theft pleaded guilty Monday.
Marc A. Schroy, 206 N. Walnut St., Huntingburg, was accused of taking an amplifier valued at $59.99 from the Walmart Supercenter at 4040 Newton St. on Jan. 18, according to court documents.
The case was investigated by the Jasper Police Department and a warrant charging him with misdemeanor theft was issued Friday.
Schroy was lodged Saturday morning in the Dubois County Security Center on the warrant and, on Monday, pleaded guilty to the misdemeanor in court.
His sentencing was set for Feb. 28 and the court released Schroy on his own recognizance.
