JASPER — Jasper Police arrested a Huntingburg man Saturday morning on rape charges.
Francisco J. Perez, 31, was charged with rape, a Level 3 felony, criminal confinement, Level 6 felony, and battery, a Class A misdemeanor.
Police officers were contacted by Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center staff Saturday morning and were told staff was treating an adult female involved in a sexual assault.
After an investigation, officers learned that Perez had sexually assaulted the victim at a Jasper residence late Friday night, Jasper Police said. Perez was located at the Dubois County Work Release Center and arrested, police said. He is lodged at the Dubois County Security Center.
