Hubert N. “Red” Armes, 94, of Alfordsville, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Thursday, August 1, 2019.
He was born February 27, 1925, in Daviess County to Hayden and Zeda (Hedrick) Armes.
Red Served in the Navy during World War II. He was a member of Alfordsville Christian Church.
Red is survived by his second wife, LaRue Williams; two daughters, Vicky Caraher and husband Michael of Carmel and Denise Merrimon of Alfordsville; six grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ethel and Joyce, both of Carmel.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Betty J. (Houchins) Armes who passed August 17, 2013; one Infant son; two brothers; and two sisters.
Funeral services for Red will be on Monday, August 5, at 11 a.m. at the Gill Funeral Home, Washington, with Rev. Steve Remmel officiating. Burial will follow at the Oak Grove Reeve Township cemetery with Military rites being accorded.
Friends may call on the family at the funeral home Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. and on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
