From Local Sources
JASPER — Hosparus Health of Southern Indiana is seeking volunteers in Clark, Crawford, Daviess, Dubois, Floyd, Harrison, Jefferson, Martin, Orange, Perry, Pike, Scott, Spencer and Washington counties.
The nonprofit hospice and palliative care organization hosts free training sessions throughout the year at its New Albany office, 502 Hausfeldt Lane, and its new Jasper location, 225 W. 41st Street, Suite C. Hosparus Health may also schedule trainings as needed at community-based locations, such as churches and libraries in the counties where it does not have an office.
Hosparus Health provides hospice and palliative care to seriously ill patients and their families. Depending on their interests, volunteers provide companionship and respite to patients and their caregivers, and help with administrative duties, bereavement care, outreach, fundraising and special events. The organization is especially in need of licensed specialty volunteers to provide hair care and massage therapy to homebound patients.
Hosparus Health carefully selects volunteers and provides them with comprehensive training specially designed to meet the needs of patients and families. Volunteers must have available transportation and complete training and an application process.
To register, contact Volunteer Manager Vonya Gresham at firstname.lastname@example.org or 812-542-2809. Volunteer applications are also available online at HosparusHealth.org/volunteers.
