Hoosier Hills donates $10K to Jasper LEADS

From Local Sources

JASPER — Hoosier Hills Credit Union representatives recently presented Jasper Mayor Terry Seitz with the second installment — $10,000 — in a three-year, $30,000 commitment toward the sponsorship of significant community projects, including the Jasper LEADS (library, enrichment, arts and downtown) project.

The Community Fund Drive for the LEADS project was launched through the combined efforts of the Jasper Community Arts Commission and the Jasper Public Library Board who plan to construct the Thyen-Clark Cultural Center at the corner of Mill and Third streets in Jasper. The project also supports the renovation and reactivation of the historic Astra Theatre and refurbishing of the current Jasper Arts Center for additional quality arts programming.

Hoosier Hills President and CEO George McNichols is looking forward to both the cultural and economic growth the Community Fund Drive will support.

“Part of our mission at Hoosier Hills is to be better for our members by making a positive difference in the communities we serve,” he said. “We appreciate the efforts of the Jasper Community Arts Commission and that of the Jasper Public Library and are so pleased to have the opportunity to partner in the success of their vision.”
