Honor victims of gun violence

JASPER — ONE-DC invites the public to honor all victims and survivors of gun violence at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 8, at 1465 St. Charles St. Attendees are asked to wear orange as a symbol of commitment “to fight for a future free from gun violence.”

Orange flags will be placed in the shape of the number 1,200. Since the school shooting in Parkland, Florida, 1,200 children have been killed by a firearm in the United States.

Also, throughout the coming weeks ONE-DC plans to honor and tell the story of 12 of these children who lost their life, their future, their potential impact on the world to gun violence. Stories may be viewed via sinceparkland.org each day on the ONE-Dubois County Facebook page.
