Home burglary finds 1 teen waived to adult court

HUNTINGBURG — One of two teens arrested in connection with a May 31 home burglary has been waived into adult court.

Cole A. Orebaugh, 17, 202 N. Main St., Huntingburg, and a 15-year-old Huntingburg male are accused of breaking into a Huntingburg home and taking three handguns, a rifle and other property that included alcohol and binoculars.

The Huntingburg Police Department investigated, identifying suspects and recovering the stolen property within hours.

The investigation resulted in Orebaugh being charged as an adult in Dubois Circuit Court with a Level 4 felony count of burglary, a Level 6 felony count of theft and a misdemeanor count of theft.

The 15-year-old allegedly involved in the incident has been charged in the juvenile system, according to authorities.

Orebaugh was booked into the Dubois County Security Center June 20 and was then placed on pretrial work release.

His mugshot was not immediately available.
