Holy Family collects items for Appalachia

JASPER — Holy Family Parish is collecting hygiene and other items for the Piarist Mission in Kentucky in an effort to help children and teens in the depressed areas of Appalachia. A collection box is in the narthex of church through Nov. 12 for collection of items.

The items needed this year are socks, underwear, gloves and hats for infants through teens and diapers of all sizes. Items such as shampoo, soap, toothpaste, and other personal hygiene items are needed. Items should not be wrapped. A list of items needed is in the narthex of church.

The Piarist Outreach Program serves over 1,000 children and teens in the depressed areas of Appalachia. Delivery of the items collected will be made directly to the Piarist Mission to be used for the needy children and teens in Appalachia.
