JASPER — A weekend welfare check resulted in a man’s arrest on drug-related preliminary charges.
The Jasper Police Department was dispatched at 1:03 a.m. Sunday to check on a man apparently sleeping in a car in a business lot in the 200 block of Clay Street.
Police made contact with Daniel L. Moore, 44, Holland, and reported finding marijuana in his possession. After a K-9 called to the scene alerted on the vehicle, police also reported locating a controlled substance and methamphetamine.
Authorities booked Moore into the Dubois County Security Center at 3:42 a.m. Sunday on preliminary charges of Level 6 felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana.
Moore posted bond Sunday night.
