Holland Kiwanis awards 2 scholarships

The Holland Kiwanis Club has announced the winners of their scholarship awards for 2020. Each recipient will receive a $1,000 scholarship. This year’s recipients are Kaelynn Luker and Paige Kendall, both graduates of Southridge High School.


Luker is the daughter of Bryan and Jan Luker of Holland. She is active in showing horses through 4-H and the Dubois County Wranglers Club. She has qualified for the state horse judging competition and is manager of Santa’s Stable in Santa Claus. She is a member of Girls on the Run and St. Mary’s Catholic Church. During her years at Southridge High School, Luker was active in varsity track and cross country teams and was team manager for the boys’ and girls’ swim teams. She was recognized at the academic honors ceremony and was involved in Fellowship of Christian Athletes and FFA. She plans on attending Morehead University in the fall.






Kendall is the daughter of Scott and Kim Kendall of Huntingburg. She served as a Riley Children’s Hospital liaison and was on the Mayor’s Youth Council. She also was involved in the Catholic Heart Summer Work Camp program. She is a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. While attending Southridge High School, Miss Kendall was the senior class president. She was involved in the choir, the swimming and diving team, the track and field team, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Student Council, Spirit Club, Raiders Involved in Daily Growth and Enrichment program and National Honor Society. She also served as lieutenant governor of the Key Club. She plans on attending the University of Indianapolis in the fall.
