Holland Kiwanis

The Holland Kiwanis met at the Holland American Legion on May 20. President Lynn Kahle called the meeting to order. President Kahle reminded members that next week's meeting would be an evening meeting taking place at 6:30 p.m. at the Holland United Methodist Church. President Kahle also reminded members of Kiwanis One Day that will take place on May 22. Members should meet at the Holland Elementary School at 9 a.m. to work on the school landscaping.

President Kahle went on to remind members of the May 25 Holland Kiwanis Rabies Clinic. The clinic will again be held at the Holland Park and will be held in drive-thru format. Cost of the pet vaccination for dogs and cats is $14 per animal. The clinic will begin at 6 p.m. and last until 7:30. The clinic is being hosted with help from the Dubois County Animal Hospital and Happy Tails Happy Endings will be available for free pet tags and registration.

Finally President Kahle noted that June 5t will be the annual Holland Kiwanis Sausage and Pancake breakfast at the Holland Methodist Church. Beginning at 7 a.m the breakfast will be a drive-thru format and a free will offering will go to fund the Holland Kiwanis Scholarship fund.

Finally, it was also voted to take the monies made from the meeting half pot and contribute it to Riley Hospital. Motion was made by Kenny Peacock and seconded by Sharon Springston. With no further business, the meeting was turned over to Melvin Menke who had the program for the day. Menke gave a slide presentation of the history of his family and how they immigrated from Germany in the 1800s.
