Hillham-area accident slightly injures 1May 29, 2019

HILLHAM — An Orange County motorist suffered minor injury in a single-vehicle accident Thursday evening near Hillham.
Brittany Tittle, 20, Paoli, was eastbound on State Road 56 in a 2008 Chevrolet Malibu when the 6:25 p.m. accident occurred east of County Road 925E, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office.
Tittle’s car exited the north side of the highway but she was able to return it to the roadway, according to the sheriff’s department. Tittle over-corrected, with the car again running off the north side of the highway where it struck an embankment and stopped in a ditch.
The sheriff’s department reported that Tittle suffered scrapes but refused medical treatment by ambulance at the scene. There was no airbag deployment.
Damage was estimated between $5,000 and $10,000.
The Dubois Volunteer Fire Department, Memorial Hospital Emergency Medical Services and a Sternberg Automotive Group wrecker assisted.
