Heritage Hills' Gordon honored by IBCANovember 12, 2019
From Herald Staff Reports
It didn't take long for people to notice what Heritage Hills junior Rebekah Gordon is doing.
Gordon was named one of four players named an Indiana Basketball Coaches Association/Subway Player of the Week for the first week of the season. The junior for the Patriots notched two double-doubles in the first two games of the season. She had 20 points, 10 rebounds, five steals, an assist and a blocked shot as Heritage Hills rolled, 56-19, in the Nov. 5 opener against Northeast Dubois.
She followed that up two days later with 23 points, 10 boards, two helpers and one steal in a losing effort. The Pats fell, 52-49, at Crawford County.
Gordon went 14-for-27 from the field, 2-for-5 from 3-point land and was 13-for-16 at the free throw line.
Noblesville freshman Ashlynn Shade, Northwestern senior Madison Layden and North Judson-San Pierre junior Lilliann Frasure also earned Player of the Week honors this week.
