Heavy rain factors in parking lot accidentFebruary 7, 2020
From Local Sources
FERDINAND — Heavy rain was listed as the primary contributing factor in a Tuesday night mishap in the MasterBrand parking lot at 235 Scenic Industrial Drive.
Carl L. Wall, 46, Lenoir City, Tennessee, was attempting to park a trailer hooked to a 2019 International semi tractor at the time of the 9 p.m. accident, according to the Ferdinand Police Department.
Police said Wall did not notice that the loading dock space he was aiming for was already occupied by a 1997 Ford box truck owned by MasterBrand Cabinets.
The rear bumper of the semi trailer collided with the rear bumper of the parked, unoccupied Ford, police said.
Damage was estimated at $500 to each vehicle.
No citations were issued and both vehicles were drivable.
