JASPER — A Jasper man was booked Friday into the Dubois County Security Center after twice failing to appear for an initial hearing in a driving-offense case.

Jordon T. Earls, 32, 2450 N. 450W, Jasper, was charged with misdemeanor driving while suspended (prior) in October and given a date to appear in court. When he failed to appear twice for an initial hearing, a failure-to-appear warrant was issued Dec. 17 in Dubois Superior Court.

Earls was booked into the security center at 10:25 p.m. Friday on the active failure-to-appear warrant.

During the initial hearing Monday, the court approved Earls’ request for pauper counsel, set his next court hearing for Jan. 27 and released him on his own recognizance.
