The Dubois County Health Department will soon have a new director.
Jo Ann Spaulding will replace Donna Oeding as administrative director of the department. She will start work Oct. 4 and shadow Oeding until Oeding retires on Oct. 31. Spaulding, of Loogootee, is a graduate of the University of Southern Indiana with a master’s degree in health administration and a Bachelor of Science degree in health services with a focus on gerontology.
Also, Jennifer Merkley has been hired as the department’s new director of nursing. Merkley, of Jasper, started Aug. 23 and replaces Lynn Maitlen, who has retired. Merkley holds a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Western Kentucky University.
