Headlight issue leads to crash
January 29, 2020From Local Sources
SCHNELLVILLE — A headlight issue factored into a Friday accident northeast of Schnellville.
DeShai D. Gaishin, 20, Birdseye, was southbound on County Road 1025E in a 1993 Chrysler Imperial when the 7:10 a.m. accident occurred 500 feet north of County Road 175S, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office.
Gaishin said her headlights went out while she was driving, leading her to lose control of the car, which had recently had a headlight switch replaced.
The Chrysler went off the west side of the roadway, and struck an embankment with its passenger-side front. The car then spun and stopped facing north in a ditch, according to the sheriff’s office.
Damage to the vehicle appeared minor, according to a deputy.
A Berg’s Garage wrecker assisted.
