From local sources
MILTON, Ky. — Kentucky State Police say 21-year-old Jennifer Lundergan of 1725 E. 550S, Huntingburg, was killed in a Monday morning crash State Road 36 in Trimble County south of Madison.
Troopers say Lundergan was driving a mini-van toward Milton and attempted to pass another vehicle at about 8 a.m. Lundergan crashed head-on into an oncoming Acura passenger car and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say the Acura was driven by 41-year-old Miachel Hancock-Eccles of Madison. Hancock-Eccles was life-flighted to the University of Louisville Hospital because of serious injuries. Her injuries are not believed to be life threatening, according to police.
Both Lundergan and Hancock-Eccles were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash, according to authorities.
Troopers said foggy conditions could have contributed to the crash, which is still under investigation.
