Haysville firefighters handle grass fire

HAYSVILLE — Members of the Haysville Volunteer Fire Department ventured north into Martin County when a roadside grass fire was reported Thursday evening.

The department was called at 7:58 p.m. to the fire along the east side of U.S. 231 about 2 miles north of the bridge over the East Fork of the White River.

It was a small fire with one truck and 10 firefighters on the scene for about 15 minutes, according to Fire Chief John Fuhrman.
