From Local Sources

HAYSVILLE — Units of the Haysville Volunteer Fire Department were called a few miles into Martin County when an outbuilding caught fire Wednesday.

The 2:23 p.m. callout was to the Michael and Rhonda Carr residence at 1320 Webb Road, east of U.S. 231 in Rutherford Township.

Fire Chief John Fuhrman said old skids were being burned when the wind shifted and fire spread to a 16-by-30 open outbuilding. The fire destroyed the structure.

Two trucks and 14 firefighters were on the scene 90 minutes.
