Hayes selected as HBCA honoree

Southridge senior boys basketball player Jaden Hayes was selected to the Hoosier Basketball Coaches Association District 2 All-District team as well as the HBCA West Regional All-Star team.

Hayes averaged 12.8 points per game this season along with 5.6 rebounds per game and 1.5 assists per game. The big man also shot 41 percent from three-point and led the team with 41 total three-pointers made.

For his high school career, he scored 968 total points, grabbed 457 rebounds and had 111 blocked shots.

Joining Hayes on the West Regional All-Star team is Barr-Reeve’s Gabe Gladish, Bedford North Lawrence’s McCall Ray, Bloomington South’s Adam Graham and Grayson Rolen, Edgewood’s Joe Kido, Princeton’s Matt Dove and Stephan Wilkerson, South Knox’s Gage Bobe, South Putnam’s Allen Plunkett, Tell City’s Braeden Beard and Wood Memorial’s Paxon Bartley. Castle’s Alex Hemenway was also selected but is unable to participate in the Regional All-Star game.
