Tanner Beckman of Jasper, 11, tried to make a phone call while his grandfather Vic Beckman of Celestine baled straw after harvesting wheat in his field in Celestine on Monday. Tanner regularly helps his grandfather with harvesting and planting. Vic usually plants corn and beans in the same field, but because of last year’s drought, he planted wheat.
