H. Catherine ‘Katie’ Lagenour, 93, Odon
June 9, 2020H. Catherine “Katie” Lagenour, 93, of Odon, (where she spent most of her life), passed peacefully on Sunday June 7, 2020, at St. Charles Health Campus, Jasper.

She was born in Martin County on October 23, 1926, to George E. Howerton and Maggie “Wininger” Howerton.
Katie married Herbert Lagenour on May 23, 1942, and he preceded her in death on January 25, 2010.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; on brother, George Howerton; four sisters, infant Mary and toddler Lois Howerton, Dorothy Hagen and Violet “Polly” Baer; sons-in-law, Bill Clay and Raymond Nash; and daughter-in-law, Judy Lagenour.
Katie was a member of the First Christian Church of Odon and Past Worthy Matron and 50-year member of Order of Eastern Star (OES), Chapter 249, French Lick.
She was the Crane Cafeteria Manager for many years and then switched to the NAD Crane Navy side and retired in 1984 after 32 years. After retirement, she for a while drove a taxi at NSWC Crane.
Katie loved spending time with her family, eating out, shopping, reading, quilting, embroidery and word find puzzles.
Her and Dad (Herb) were Florida snowbirds for many years and loved to camp and travel. She was caring and loving, loved by many and will be missed.
Katie is survived by one son, Stephen Lagenour (Carole), Bedford; three daughters, Karen Clay, Morgantown, Patsy Hedrick (Roger), Dubois, and Mary Lee Asdell (Randy), Bloomington; one sister, Lorene Lagenour, Hillham; 22 grandchildren; 62 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A Graveside Ceremony will be conducted by Rev. Al Madden on Wednesday, June 10, 2020, at 2 p.m. at Emmons Ridge Cemetery, French Lick.
Friends may call on Wednesday, June 10, 2020, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Brosmer-Kemple Funeral Home, French Lick.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to Emmons Ridge Cemetery Fund, c/o Kathy Kalb, 2494 Hillham Road, French Lick, IN 47432.
Arrangements are in the care of Brosmer-Kemple Funeral Home in French Lick.
