Got Her Goats

Corbyn Schnell of Celestine, 13, snuggled with her 9-month-old goat, Galaxy, as one of her other goats, yet to be named, played by her foot Friday at the St. Isidore the Farmer Harvest Festival at St. Isidore Catholic Parish in Celestine. Schnell said she started raising goats when she bought one from a friend. “And then we got a billy and started raising babies,” she said. Schnell, who has 10 goats, shows the animals at the Dubois County 4-H Fair.


Avery Schmitt of Celestine, 5, had her face painted by her mother, Valerie, on Friday during the festival.


Matthew Messmann of Celestine, 9, held Hershey, a 4-week-old goat, during the festival. "He's soft, cuddly and very cute," Messmann said.
