Gas smell reported in Dubois-area home

From Local Sources

DUBOIS — Dubois Volunteer Fire Department members responded Thursday night when the smell of natural gas was reported in a home west of the Dubois Crossroads.

Firefighters responding to the 8:15 p.m. callout in the 3700 block of East State Road 56 did not smell gas themselves and the department’s gas detector did not register a leak, according to Fire Chief Steve Kalb.

The department ventilated the home while on scene.

Two trucks and 10 firefighters were out 30 minutes.
