    While sisters Karissa Weisman, 13, left, and Maddie, both of Ireland, relaxed in hammocks, some of Maddie’s 12 adult chickens crowded around them hoping for a treat Monday evening. Maddie, who works at Rural King, brought home her first chickens back in March 2017 because they were disabled and not going to sell at the store. She now has 12 adult hens and eight chicks, which she purchased from Rural King. “I was told I’m not allowed to bring anymore home,” Maddie said. Brittney Lohmiller/The Herald
