"Calves have always been my favorite animal," said Lydia Betz of Schnellville, 12, as she relaxed with Leroy, a 12-week-old Black Angus, on Sunday at the Dubois County 4-H Fairgrounds. Betz said Leroy's mother died a week after he was born and she has bottle fed him since. "He's small enough and he doesn't kick or hurt anybody so like this morning there was at least 10 kids just petting on him and playing with him and he doesn't care," she said.
